This Waterstones is small, but that is nice and refreshing compared to the behemoth Waterstones in other cities in the UK like Oxford. The staff here, as with almost every Waterstones I've been to, are lovely. They seem to enjoy what they do, and I am - for that - grateful. Although this bookstore is small, it usually stocks a fair collection of both the classics and the new. If you find yourself wanting a book they don't have in store, you can always get them to order it in and collect stamps on your Waterstones plus account. They even have a fairly large collection of the Staff's favourite books ready to pick up and purchase. Plus some little knick-knacks are perched on a little revolvable stand. The small but carefully selected selection is perfect (as to not be overwhelmed) and it's always a pleasure to stop by.

It's a nice place to browse books and new releases. Unfortunately, half of it is dedicated to children's books, and thus does not have a selection that you'd expect in a larger Waterstones.

Popped in to get books for my teenage daughter as a reward for a cracking grade card and Nick at Clifton was extremely helpful in guiding me on this problem: what to get that she will enjoy without it being too racy or juvenile!! Very knowledgeable and a lovely manner!! What a great shop!
