This area has always been very smelly and not very nice to go through, but is a key part of Bristol and widely used. Nice to see that something is finally being done to make the bear pit a lot nicer. Hopefully we won't have to deal with horrendous smells going through here.

Homeless men needing help. I would only go there in daylight hours. I think it important to be ready to give fresh food and even some loose change. I did this and encouraged a young man to ask Lord for help and to reach for a better life, then help others get out of the pit of despair. I prayed he would get the help he needed.

Shame the council didn't support the community to make it a safer place. Was going well 2 yrs ago but the people can't do everything themselves! Big up Simon and the taco bus.. Now its just a subway walk thro, what a waste of a great bit of space

Who ever even asked for a ring road in the middle of the city? Over the years the bear pit has had so much work put into it, the art within its walls became part of the city, until the other day when as I walked through I noticed that once again they've cleared the entire place out. How many times must they do it until they realise the negative effects of the roundabout and dual carriageways running through the city. Bristol by bike, #betterbybike

It's a very beautiful square at Bristol City Center, but there is nothing special there. I'd say it's a pedestrian passway. Sad to say, the main attraction The Bear Statue was removed or stolen years ago by "smart guy"...
