Well, i used to use 'Well' on North street, not any longer...They don't get prescriptions out on weekends (not open on a saturday??) unless you make a very early call after they text you way after 'driver time' (come on, you're a blinkin Pharmacy!) currently bed ridden, so i called Lloyds, spoke to James a bright lad, and now i have my prescription delivered today...I am now changing pharmacy to Lloyds.
I have been a frequent visitor to this pharmacy for some time. There has been a pharmacy at 246 North Street for a great many years (GK Chemist originally). The other address was the old Bernard Hunter Photography at 244 North Street which I have also visited. The new expanded Lloyds Pharmacy now takes up two units having expanded next door. I normally drop in a couple of Prescriptions as needed and collect. I find this always much easier to do here than up the old Surgery (now private as Bridge View Medical Group) and my abiding impression is friendly staff. The now expanded place has made great use of the extra space, easy to move around and one of the easiest places for disabled and those of restricted mobility to enter and exit with the ramped entry and automatic door and push button exit and as before move around. Many pharmaceutical, baby, child, bathroom and medical products available. So always worth a look for small items and general medicines. Some items are available at a good price such as Carex handwash, others like Bathroom essentials like Brut can be more expensive. Everything is easy to find and see, labelled. I would have also highly recommended them for mobility aids, so if anyone ever needed an aluminium walker. In recent days they no longer do these, a pity, as that was simplicity itself and the walker for my Mum is wonderful. Bright, White, well-lit and I must add spotlessly clean. Hospitals could take note. The best part I note is getting any medicines on Prescription. The process of doing it via the Pharmacy is fuss free I find, and they take notice of your notes on your prescription. The time has lengthened recently so drop in Monday could get it by Friday. The amount of people using the Pharmacy in recent months has increased massively. An increasing number of NHS services are delivered by the Pharmacy instead of the Surgery, such as Flu Jabs and Health Checks. That has gone very well, and I note they seem interested and enquiring into your health, much like GP Surgery used to be. All in all, much busier, hence at times even late on Friday for instance, quite a wait for things to be finished. I have found them much more approachable and helpful regarding medical questions. Keeping in mind they are Pharmacists and not Doctors of Medicine. I was informed that in fact I am eligible for free Prescriptions whereas I believed after a change in circumstances almost 2 years ago I was not. Like many things why couldn’t the GP tell me that. Another is for an illness I had, I was told by the GP nothing could be done, yet spoke to the Pharmacist, yes there is something I can take, so sorted. The irony I find, having only 3 GP’s in my life till recent years is that on a basis of trust. I trust Lloyds Pharmacy far more than a Surgery now. On that basis and the friendliness and approachability of staff. I give them my highest recommendation.

Nice helpful staff...
great chemist that usually works here and lovely, helpful staff.
Enquired about hygienic latex gloves and the idle-minded retail assistant told me they were out of stock in a dismissive way. After imploring them to check the stock it transpired they were in stock and so I therefore have a box of 100 hygienic covid-friendly gloves ready for the other shops in the area. The shop itself and the other staff present is/are friendly, clean and efficient .
Staff strung me along for 2 weeks before coming to the conclusion they could not provide my medication and suggest I obtain another prescription and try another pharmacy. Not just incompetent but also dangerous. I have used this pharmacy for about 8 years but since the premises extended and the staff changed its service has deteriorated.
They never have my correct items despite them being the same each month and me having the same issues every month. More than once they haven’t requested my repeat prescription despite saying they had. The service is incredibly slow. The grey haired lady who works there is lovely - I don’t find anyone else friendly, knowledgeable or helpful. I appreciate them staying open during a pandemic but these are issues I have had for the past year. Moving to Well pharmacy down the road.
Really poor customer service. Tried to collect my pescription 3 times from them, each time it was out of stock. Every other pharmacy I've been to, this hasn't been a problem because they would just order the stock and give me a call when its in. Here, they refused to order in more, didn't know when it would be back in stock (which if they ordered it in they would know) and absolutely unhelpful when I have been trying to get my pescription for nearly a month.
