Excellent doctors (at least the ones I am in contact with) but health and safety issues need to be sorted in the old and crumbling building: can't open window in the A/C-less waiting room upstairs. Needs to be sorted before the summer. But overall still 5 stars as the GPs matter most.

Yeah, I can see how for some people the receptionists might seem a bit absent or rude but to be honest, not a big deal to me. I am looking for caring, understanding, and good doctors and I've always had a good experience at Petersfield.

I don't know why the Petersfield Practice has so many bad reviews. I'm not convinced by the British health system to start with (coming from Germany, health service is a lot better), but the Petersfield Practice is an excellent surgery! Especially the comments about rude receptionists - NOT TRUE, they are lovely ladies! I've been to several doctors and nurses at this surgery and all are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Fair enough the appointment booking system is a bit outdated, but that's usually not my worry when I feel sick.

On the positive side, there are a few good doctors in this surgery (knowledgeable and helpful). On the negative side, there are also quite a few doctors who don't seem to care about the patient and instead just try to cut the visit short. Furthermore, the receptionist is extremely rude and uncooperative. This is not just a matter of me being offended; I feel that the fact that she has such an uncooperative attitude in her job has a measurable negative impact on the whole health service offered by this practice. Two more negative aspects: the waiting time for new appointments is very long and they don't have online health records.

Limited opening hours and a booking process that makes it almost impossible to get an appointment if you need one. Legislation forces them to reveal doctors' average earnings; 58k. The medical staff seem very professional when you eventually get to see someone, but poor accessibility means poor value for money. Until they can provide adequate capacity and access for the patient population they have chosen to take on, I would advise registering elsewhere - especially if you ever need to see a doctor with less than two week's notice. I also notice that the positive reviews here include some from staff, and some from separate accounts with the same name - obviously a coincidence.

Both my partner and I have been to the practice in the last few weeks and we both had exceptional experiences (and we saw different doctors). We were able to get in-person appointments on the same day we called. The doctor took her time, asked lots of questions, was responsive, and thorough. I never felt rushed or that my condition was not being taken seriously. She was very kind and gracious. I am a new patient to the practice and this was my first appointment/encounter there. I can only hope this level of service is continued!

I wish I give a negative star. After waiting for hours to book an appointment, my appointment was a complete failure. The GP seems young, untrained, and unprofessional. She focus and what she knows and ignores the main issue I came for. I keep highlighting and asking for the reason of the main issue and she continue to ignore. A complete waste of my time. I feel google helped me much more than her stupidity in understanding my main issue and concerns. Why they gamble with our health? Is she even a doctor or trained? I DOUBT..

Excellent service for both my children - we have seen most of the practice partners over the last year - appointments always free for the children and prompt call backs. Sensible, pragmatic approaches to problems. The childhood vaccination team deserve particular praise - so few other practices have the 2 jabs at once approach but this is great as a parent!

I wish I could give two sets of reviews, one for the doctors and nurses, and then one for the reception staff. For reception I would give 0 out of 5 if possible, as they are extremely rude, unhelpful and even dishonest. I have been refused multiple appointment for extremely petty reasons. However the doctors and nurses are absolutely brilliant, and I would easily give them 5/5. Nurse Rosie and Doctor Eleanor Gordon are some of the loveliest, most helpful medical professionals I have come across. My suggestion would be to fire or retrain your reception staff, because they are putting people off getting appointments even when they're chronically ill, and this makes a big difference to their standard of care.

1/ 5

Extremely difficult receptionists, often demanding that I disclose medical issues before I can even book an appointment with the GP - intrusive, insensitive and unprofessional. 40% of UK patients are put off making vital health appointments with this kind of approach and fundamentally are under no obligation to do so.
