My husband and I had a lovely tour of the house last week. The guides made us feel very welcome and were so enthusiastic and informative, it was a pleasure. It was so special and intimate to see how David Parr had used his skills as an employee of Frederick Leach to decorate his own home in such elaborate detail. His very detailed workbook on the house must be such a valuable source. The very personal story of the last relatives who lived in the house was very touching. It is to the credit of the people who work hard to preserve his legacy that we were able to see it.

Really enjoyed our recent tour of the house. Fascinating tour of a craftsman's own home from the Arts and Crafts period. It is only possible for groups of six to go round at once because the house is a tiny Victorian terrace. But the fact that the decoration by David Parr was almost miraculously preserved by his granddaughter Elsie after his death and who lived in the house from then until her own death makes it a unique survival. Being in a small group meant the tour felt very safe and our guides were excellent!

Small group tours led by enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides really bring the place alive. Many thanks to the team who have sympathetically preserved this important piece of Cambridge cultural heritage and have made it accessible to all of us.
