The barber shop used to offer student discount if you showed your University Card. However, they have changed the policy and now only accept NUS cards (which you have to apply for and pay an annual fee) as proof that you are student. The policy change was not properly advertised, apart from tiny letters in the price list, so I was surprised at the till when realised that I had to pay £5 more than what I was planning. The hair cuts and barber service is still good though.

Terrible barbers. DO NOT GO HERE. Young Italian barber spends more time fixing his own hair and using the hairdryer to get hair off his clothes, than he does cutting your hair. Equipment is dull and hurts! Very unpleasant experience.

I live in Trumpington and usually cycle in to Luis when I need a haircut. I have always received a perfectly adequate, reasonably priced haircut here and the barbers are pleasant and competent. The occasional 'one star' reviews on this site are so far from what I have experienced that I suspect they were posted by competitors, not customers.

Asked for it to be cleaned up, keeping the same style, but barber shaved half my head down to a 1 within a minute. He then proceeded to try to convince me it was the only way to cut my hair, despite my having had this haircut for years without cutting the sides down to nothing.
