One of the best libraries in Europe and the world. Scholars from so many countries owe so much to this place and the people working inside. It's got a massive quantity of books an journals, it holds expositions and hosts important historical archives. The online service is also good, and the staff quite friendly and helpful. It's got a garden inside to eat your packed lunch, as well as a nice cafeteria.

Darwin Archives at the Cambridge University Library is indeed a treasure trove of his thinking and action. How Charles Darwin was able to arrive at the theory of evolution could be traced from these collections of his diaries, letters, postcards, musings, articles and how he presented them as books. The researcher at the archives was able to describe his general history of travel through the HMS Beagle, his exploits during the travel, collected materials, and also the necessity that forced him to come out with the book to prioritize his discovery. The critical comments by the press and how he avoided the clash with the Christianity in explaining the origins of life were very interesting. A place of worth to visit if your interested in the intellectual history of ideas.
