Trumpington Street Post Office cambridge

Bad service. I asked for five stamps for postcards to a EU country and returned the day after to send two of the postcards; I had already sent the other three the previous evening. The same lady that sold me the stamps then weighted the postcards and told me they were overweight, which means the three other postcards already sent will be returned, failing to arrive by Christmas. A good post office assistant should have warned me that the stamp prices are so sensitive to weight, even for postcards. She didn't even try to apologise, claiming that I had several postcards in each envelope, something that wasn't true. Certainly not recommended, will use the central post office next time, as I often do.

Friendly staff and good opening hours. However, the man who helped me tried to charge me the costs of a small parcel when in fact, the item was easily thin enough to be a large envelope. The price difference is significant, so I would recommend to insist on them using their letterbox cutout shape to see whether your items are in fact a (large) letter. In response to the shop owner's reply: No, you wanted to charge me for a small parcel when the item was clearly thin enough to go through the letterbox. The employee did NOT use the cutout shape himself to first see if it could be sent as a large letter, instead I had to insist on him trying the cutout after he gave me a price for a small parcel when I knew it was a large letter. Your staff tried to overcharge me. Maybe you need to instruct your staff better?

This is a great little Post Office. Staff are so helpful and friendly. Sells other items as well as a small shop does. Being a mini post office is a huge bonus.
