It is absolutely disgusting that the school allows parents to smoke directly outside of the gates. Every morning my little girl has to inhale secondhand smoke and walk through smoke clouds prior to starting her day. I have held a meeting with the current principle and other members of staff to highlight my concern not just for my children's wellbeing but others too as I am sure most parents would feel the same. Unfortunately neither the staff nor the principle seem take the matter seriously, it feels like the school does not place a great deal of importance on the issue of children inhaling secondhand smoke. I have made suggestion to the principle to put signs on the school gate to request parents to smoke away from the gate but the suggestion was ignored and one month down the line nothing has been done about it. Its brilliant that the school promotes healthy eating but the staff and the principle have a responsibility and duty of care to ensure they provide a safe environment for our children which right now is far from it. The teaching methods and general performance of the school seems great but there is no emphasis on the children wellbeing, greatly disappointed at the schools conduct.
