Beautiful grounds and a lovely bar ruined by an extremely aggressive, confrontational barman. The grounds and buildings are wonderful. Really well kept and pristine. Lovely to walk around. The bar is also very nice, almost seems like a restaurant. Drinks are reasonable and they have a good selection. This peaceful evening drink was utterly ruined by an extremely arrogant, aggressive barman. We were tinkling away on the piano (3 people, one of whom isn’t that confident) and she made a mistake and hit some of the keys. After another while of tinkling this barman came over and in a very aggressive manner told us to stop. From the start he was extremely confrontational. When we challenged this he then mimicked us playing (as if we were in a primary school ) and told us we were playing like children and to stop - this was done in an even more aggressive manner. He then said we need to show ‘respect’ to the instrument. You would have thought we had vandalised it, kicked it and ripped some of the keys off. If this is how disputes or things are handled normally in this bar, the working practices have to be looked at as it is not ok. There are ways to talk to people that are civil. The other barmen (behind the bar) were extremely nice and friendly. This man sat to the side watching football on his phone it seemed. This manner of talking doesn’t belong in ANY bar, let alone a college bar. It was disgusting. Worst experience in a bar I’ve had for a very long time.

A truly beautiful place to live, learn, and study. Arguably one of the prettiest and most peaceful colleges in Cambridge with an outstanding chapel and stunning gardens, just a short walk from the city centre. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
