Dyffryn Gardens cardiff

My partner, our two young daughters and myself decided to come here for a bank holiday day out. What a lovely place, we were greeted by Chris on the desk who was excellent, he gave us tips on where to go and what to do at Dyffryn. The gardens are absolutely stunning, and meticulously maintained. My eldest (almost 2) loved running about and exploring. The house itself was great, we went on a "Make it Monday", so my eldest daughter made the most of the colouring! Worth mentioning that the ladies doing this were brilliant with her. Everyone was very friendly, and that includes the two girls serving in The Gallery (great coffee by the way).  We all really enjoyed ourselves, and can't wait to come back. Well done to all involved!

I love this place. Loads of garden rooms to explore, steps to climb, lookouts, shelters from the rain. Flower displays are stunning in spring summer. Something different to see or do every visit. Never gets boring!

Visited father Christmas in December, visit wasn't expensive. But having to pay full entry (we knew this on booking) on a wet December day was a little much, there could have been something in the grounds maybe a few local producer stalls or something a bit festive, reduced entry cost or a valid ticket to re-enter for either the lights or spring 2020.

What the National Trust are doing to the house and gardens are worthy of multiple visits. Great for a day out. Great for the kids to go exploring. Second hand bookshop in the house used to pay for repairs. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Went on new years for a lovely scroll around the gardens - haven't been inside the house yet that's for another time :) But I was impressed even though the floors weren't in bloom Only thing I would say is take a picnic or packed lunch as the prices in the cafe are a bit steep. £3.50 for what am sure is a nice sausage roll but it was half the size of what you'd normally buy in a shop. (put me off a little as did sound and smell nice)

Still plenty of colour in the gardens, not to busy, facilities (Cafe, shop & toilets) open

Well hidden but a proper treasure. Very well kept and looked after. Plenty to do with kids and perfect for a date. Beautiful, romantic. Just perfect. And the team are extremely creative.

We had a great day, with the one way system in place id argue its better since you get to see more than you would normally, felt like I saw new things again and we've been a number of times

Great place to visit. The grandchildren love the log playground. Step by step renovation of the gardens. Didn't visit the house this time so not sure how far that has progressed
