The Market Place Restaurant cardiff

Great food as always, but the Service was miserable when I took my daughter there for lunch the week before Christmas. No friendly greeting or welcome when we arrived and it appeared that they were doing us a huge favour by allowing us to take a table at 13.40 , stating that we MUST vacate by 15.30 otherwise we'd have to find an alternative venue. Being courteous costs nothing and it really does make a difference. Perhaps they will reflect on my comments and re address the way they deal with their customers.

A real treat to go to. The food is fantastic, the service is excellent and faddy eaters are catered for! Try the chips, they're delicious.

Have enjoyed many pleasant dining experiences here over the years, formerly the Masons Arms, has some car parking but not masses

We're from the east coast of Australia and have been travelling in Europe and the UK for the last few weeks. We virtually stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant for yet another long lunch. One of the best meals we've had, and we've had many! Highly recommended. Top quality meal, great setting and friendly efficient service.

A good location for couples and larger groups. An historic venue with a well run kitchen. Plenty of tasty dishes with attention to detail evident. Dishes are presented well and service is overall very good. Watch the junior waiters though, they tend to drop things while clearing the tables. I never understand the logic in trying to carry so many plates at once, especially if cutlery then slips off! We always enjoy The Market Place for celebrations and special occasions.
