Frankenstein is my all time favourite theme bar with three floors up and a basement. They serve all kinds of alcoholic drinks, a wide range of beers both local Scottish beers and foreign. They have a number delicious cocktails to choose from. They serve food too, lunch and dinner but unfortunately the bar closes quite early. It's the perfect place to go as group or family. They play really good music you can totally dance to. Last but not least are the moments where Frankenstein comes alive... It's fascinating to watch him wake up from the dead. The dramatic sound effects and lights makes the place so alive. I totally recommend Frankenstein to anyone who visits Edinburgh. "It's Alive"!!!!!!!

Great themed bar. Good drinks menu, friendly atmosphere and old black and white horror movies playing in the background. Quirky and original well worth visiting if in Edinburgh for a long weekend. The cocktails were also great value for money.

Good bar which has pub quizzes and karaoke depending on the night you go. Cocktail menu small but nice, and half price midweek. Drinks are generally well made, although on occasion they're not as nice - but they're always happy to fix any complaints (specifically Brambles which are too sour)

Love this place! The food was amazing, had been looking for a place that does chicken schnitzels and I was so happy to find that they do. The cocktails were fabulous. The atmosphere was so nice and so was the customer service. Definitely will return again! Perfect way to end our trip in Edinburgh.

I revisited this cool place having been there some years before. The visit was somewhat ruined by them running completely out of beer on tap which meant we left after one drink. It has a Frankenstein theme unsurprisingly based around the Universal films and its different from the more traditional pubs near it.

One of my favourite Edinburgh haunts. Been a few times, and each was a great experience. If you're lucky, and stay long enough, you'll get to see Frankenstein lowered from the ceiling. At the very least, you get to watch Frankenstein (1931) on repeat while you're there. Excellent service. Pizzas were delicious. And the cocktails were great. -- Even with the reduced menu, we had a fantastic time.
