This is always busy, it is a big place with a few rooms. The bar area is a good size with lots of tables and a raised area with booths. It is a place for people in transit I would say. Its handy when coming from or going to the train station. The back entrance is just behind primark front on George street. There can be a bit of a wait at the bar at times but it is worth the wait. The toilets are downstairs so plan ahead.

Such grand surroundings, being the old bank headquarters, to have a few beers! Big pillars, ornate floor & ceiling designs, gilt- edged. It was extremely busy when we arrived at 5p.m. & remained so throughout the night. The relatively cheap prices for food & drinks will always draw a crowd... Mixed crowd - locals, tourists, young & old. Upbeat, relaxed atmosphere. Child-friendly too.

Beautiful building in one of Edinburgh's finest streets, George St. Was the main branch of a bank. Sensitively restored and decorated with a good menu and great prices for such a major location. Gets very busy though at lunchtime so best to avoid the peak hour of one pm to two pm.

Fabulous building, very busy... alittle slow clearing tables. Good drink choice, basic food, but served hot and is presented well. The interior is stunning, the ceiling is amazing. Ladies loos clean and no nasty smells.

I visited on a very busy Saturday afternoon. We found a table in one of the many areas of the pub. We were sat near the old safe and wondered about it's contents!!! Lol We ordered drinks via the app and they came quickly enough considering how busy it was. We then decided on ordering some food again via the app and it came very quickly. It was hot fresh and very enjoyable. The toilets are a lovely mystery tour in the basement. They were clean and no concerns. As we exited, we saw there was a queue to get in. Overall it was a good place to get a drink and a meal.

Warm and friendly welcoming place. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and best of all - service is quick. Food was warm and tasted good. I even went back here instead of eating at the Christmas Market, so I could eat in warmth and comfort. The refillable coffee cup finished off the food perfectly.

Fast service and good food/drink for a cheap price. Whether, ordering through the app; or ordering at the bar, the staff are lovely and will accommodate your every need. The building inside is stunningly beautiful. It has this ecclesiastic aura that cannot be matched anywhere else. You can't go wrong with Wetherspoons, really. It is the same across most stores. Go here if you're looking for a nice night with friends or family, that won't break the bank.

To be fair been here a few time before. All other visits have been good. This most recent visit I found the place to be filthy. Our waitresses before we were seated simply gave the table a quick rub here and there. I had to ask another member of staff to sort this out.
