Not Impressed.

1.0/ 5

Receptionists are rude, unpleasant and arrogant. They have zero medical training or knowledge and compensate for this by being offhand and abrupt with patients who do. The doctors are in the main mediocre and although competent on the whole, I have noted several instances of bad medicine and bad practice.

I find the negative comment on Dr. Dawes truly astonishing. I have known Doctor Dawes for decades. Dr. Dawes has treated me and my parents superbly and is a gem. He is one of the most professional, compassionate, dedicated, and personable Doctors anyone could wish to find. In my experience all the other Doctors and staff I have dealt with at Northcote, are all great too

I have never attended this practice but I was astonished by the quality of care a loved one received from a Dr Dawes. Any doctor worth the title will know that substance abuse issues are strongly linked with mental illness, yet this doctor (and believe me it took restraint to use the word 'doctor') agreed with the withdrawal of mental health services to a vulnerable young adult who has made fantastic efforts to curtail her drinking of late. Even if this were not the case, does dual diagnosis not exist north of the border? I can only thank my lucky stars that I live in a city where doctors understand these issues and provide the type of care expected of their profession. Had I been present I would have told Dawes what I thought of him, but since this is the only option open to me whilst the formal complaint is in progress, here I am. Close the Dawes on your way out.

This has been my GPs since they were based in Highborough Road. I have seen good doctors retire but I must say Dr Dawes , once the young one,is a fantastic GP. From comming to my house to give me an anti-vomit jag the week after my son was born to helping cope with my mother's death.l find all the doctors in the practice very professional and also very aproachable.Where I now live I have a Doctor 's Surgery 1 minute walk away, however I would much rather go to Northcote.

Northcote is a kind, caring practice. Great at listening to me and going above and beyond. Really sweet on the phone. I'm not used to such politeness so each exprience has given me more trust and confidence. It's hard at the moment with long wait lists and everyone is strained so I thank you for being there in such difficult circumstances. Sending best wishes to all.

Been here as a family of four now for a year and honesty dreadful compared to our last family doctor. Need to see a doctor ASAP at the moment for my mother with neck and head pains which are making daily tasks extremely difficult to do. Been advised next appointment is in 4 weeks which is ridiculous. At this rate people will most likely be in a much more serious condition rather than being dealt with ASAP.

As a patient at Northcote for the last 4 years, I only have good things to say about this practice.

5/ 5

As a patient at Northcote for the last 4 years, I only have good things to say about this practice. The doctors are incredibly nice and I have always felt that they have been delivering a high standard of care to me. Since the pandemic, the phone consultations have been really useful, so credit to the staff who are making the appointments and to the doctors who have always been upbeat, excellent listeners, and solution-orientated on the phone call appointments with me (2 of them). Prescriptions were quickly arranged with my local pharmacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice, hence why I am leaving this review.
