Barley Hall york

Fantastic little medieval house and experience. All replica furnishings (furniture, food, clothes and magic items) that you can handle, play with and wear. Also areas to make stuff such as wands and spells. There are information spots throughout the house so you learn about each thing you play with. We had so much fun in barley hall. And we were able to take home a souvenir from the gift shop at the entrance. Barley hall has a great price for what you get. We had a great time playing and wandering through the house. Definitely worth finding this little gem. You will be pleasantly surprised. Hours of fun!!

Beautiful exhibition of magic and mystery objects, myths, and scientific techniques of the past. Charming place with friendly workers and lovely music. It's worth it to take a look inside just because of its lovely environment. Not adapted for wheelchairs and very nice documents of the past.

Tucked away doon a snickelway but worth locating. Really good place n kids love it - very popular with the little folk. Another good chunk of York history available to the viewing public, int York just fab?! Has so much to offer visitors.

We opted for the Barley Hall by candlelight experience and it really set the scene. A choice of hot mulled mead or apple juice as soon as you got it and a soul biscuit (it was Halloween!) We were all greated by James who knew was very informative and humorous! Would definitely recommend as despite the hall being quite small the tales of ghosts and historical facts made up for it.

Loved this museum. Right up my street. Nice little gift shop.

I want to live there! The video is only quick, a projected short film, and there's no boats going back in time like their other attraction. But an interesting and pleasant hour or so

Very interesting its a bit hard to find . So lookout for the sign and the little red devil above the sign of the alley. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting, loved the reality of it. Having a guided tour around rather than video at start would have been better

Really interesting, very much tucked away in a little courtyard, but well worth finding. Staff friendly and helpful. Aim to spend about 90 mins to do it properly.

The hall is the history itself. We amazed by the furnitures atmosphere, design everything is so detailed. You can even try some clothes of 15t century. Pay extra £3 when you visit jorvik centre, you won't regret ✌️
