We had a lovely time at the Jorvik centre exploring different aspects of Viking life. The ride was easy to grasp (particularly for me who prefers other more recent periods of history!) and very informative. The sensory experience created through a simulated scent, sounds, etc was great. Outside of the ride, there's lots of other bits to explore and the guides are all very helpful. I would definitely recommend!

It’s worth stopping and it provides some incredible history about the area. It is a unique way to learn and experience the history. The start with a short talk where you can see through glass on the floor to understand what they discovered then you get on a ride which takes you through recreated villages. I liked that they didn’t put other people in the same ride car with us. There was a funky smell on the ride. Luckily we had our masks on. After the ride you can look at artifacts. I particularly like the (real) guy who sits quietly plays a replica instrument. I would recommend swing this if you have time to spare in York .

A fantastic and very well run experience, with so much packed into such a small space. I was very impressed with how well it was run and how interesting and varied it was. The ride through a mock Viking village was definitely the highlight. If you can't make your booking, your tickets are valid for up to a year which is fantastic!

Really nice staff who are helpful and courteous. The venue is akin to the taxi ride in MadameTausads in London. A drive through wax works. Great 3D experience taking you on a timeline that improves your knowledge and perception of our national heritage. For those who bristle at multiculturalism this experience will drive a coach and horses through your viewpoint as you are thousands of years too late. Your already a genetic and linguistic multicultural alphabet soup. Unless your an ostrich you will hopefully emerge wiser and better informed.

We throughly enjoyed the experience. Fantastic small museum in the centre of York. Easy to get to. Fantastic staff. Asian lad downstairs was great at explaining about the ruins. Another fab member of staff had spent a good 20 minutes explaining in precise details about the swords, Viking trade routes and trades. My little boy enjoyed listening to him. Absolutely fascinating. Would recommend
