I always thought Argos would be honourable with warranties (I've never had to return anything before) but after my recent experience (and looking further into their terms and conditions) it would seem that this is not necessarily the case and after 6 months, as the manager confirmed with me, the onus is on the customer to prove that the product is faulty. Consider how difficult that could be with certain products. Furthermore, with some products such as the Xbox Controller they seemingly can't even process a return without an authorisation code from Microsoft, which contravenes the Consumer Rights Act 2015 as your contract is with the retailer and not the manufacturer. So now I have a choice: spend countless hours calling Microsoft, whereby judging from other people's experiences which I've read online for this common design fault problem, I will no doubt be told where to go, or I can be grateful that I've found out about Argos and their terrible returns policy and customer service with a £50 item rather than something considerably more expensive (such as a television) and never shop there again. I think I'll choose the latter and spend ten minutes following one of the numerous YouTube videos on how to fix this myself and in future I'll shop somewhere with better post sales services such as ASDA, John Lewis - or save some money and source my stuff online. No wonder bricks and mortar shops are all going bust, the only advantage they are supposed to offer is customer service but without that their inflated prices have no justification, besides they hardly ever carry stock so it can be quicker online anyway. Maybe I'll ditch Sainsburys as well considering they own Argos. We spend about £9k a year there with our food shopping but if this is how little they value their customers over a £50 item then why on earth would I want give them any of our business? Be aware and be prepared before you buy from Argos. If they follow the way of Maplin, Toys R Us etc then it will be their own making.

It's Argos. It does the job. Staff are OK, service acceptable. Prices are OK and it's nice being able to order at home and pick something up shortly after... the return it immediately if it's not quite what you were after. Definitely one up on Amazon.

Argos is the Amazon of the retail world before the Internet was invented, simply shopping from a catalogue instead of a website. Of course it will never be able to compete with the variety on the Internet, but does it have to? In store shopping means you can see instantly what you're paying for. The prices here are competitive and the service is good. They also have their own website

Service very prompt and efficient; staff friendly and willing to talk through ordering options with you (ie when something we wanted was out of stock). Sometimes highly 'automated' stores like this can be a little daunting, especially if you aren't 21 any more, but that wasn't the case here.

My son recently bought a gaming headset £90. Unfortunately it snapped. When he tried to return it he was told that it wasn't able to be returned because it looked like intentional damage. I called Braehead store when my son came home and spoke to duty manager Gary. This young man has exceptionally good customer service skills. ( I am a customer service manager myself) . He took the time to listen to my complaint and sorted it out within minutes. Please make sure he gets credited for his excellent customer service.

We used argos for long time, always good customer service but here is not same other places. Very bad customer service. One of the staff served us (sharon ) if my spelling is correct. She said one of the items is not available but I checked online was available also she rejected one of the voucher. After that I mentioned her manager that this item is available why she is speaking like this(very rude)to my wife , her manager said, item is available now😂. I hope one person from argos contact us for more details.

The staff are extremely rude, I don’t understand why they are so unhelpful and nasty towards customers. I have shopped in a number of Argos stores over the years and find this store to be very poor in comparison. I was returning an item today which I ordered online, picked it up in store but it was faulty when I got home. They were so unhelpful and nasty today, it’s not my fault the item was faulty. The two woman behaved like a tag team to be rude and nasty. Avoid this store.
