I waited patiently in a queue for 10 minutes today Tuesday December 7, 2021 at around 3.30pm. When served I politely asked if it was okay to transfer 54 GBP in 1 GBP coins contained in a bank transparent bag onto my bank card, to which I received an icy response and no reply, neither any courtesy hello or acknowledgement. As the server quickly counted the coins in about under 30 seconds, she told me in a passive aggressive tone: 'Ye see next time put they coins intae separate marked bags.' And she said it in a way as though to suggest I had done something wrong. If that had been the case, why was she counting the money? I had said with a smile my elderly grandmother had given my children the coins this way. She made a facial expression of contempt and I responded by saying: 'I can do that the next time if it is okay to give me the marked money bags:' This seemed to really annoy and irritate her. She said: 'I could huv refused that money bag!' and she gave me a hard stare with mean eyes. As the transaction ended, I said to her that I was not being rude when I asked if I could transfer these coins (my grandmother aged 92 had given her great grandchildren) but I felt she had insinuated through her behaviour it had been me who had been rude. She then got even more annoyed by my presence, and I told her with a smile: 'I did not like your tone of voice.' To which she replied: 'I didnae like yer tone either. Byeeee!!!' which was said in a very rude, sarcastic and condescending way. Well I am afraid I got terribly upset. This woman was extraordinarily bitter and angry towards me, for no just cause. I told her that her Christmas jumper did not fool anybody, because clearly Christmas is a time of good cheer and to be kind to others. It is also a time of great financial strain for many people, and her wearing that jumper I find to be extremely ironic. I left the post office feeling very upset and even more upset with myself for not rising above such a vindictive, spiteful and possibly envious woman. Would she have behaved that way to a woman her own mature age? I think not. She took me for a pushover, and thought it okay to bully me, and then still was sarcastically saying 'ok!! byeeee!' to me as I left the shop. I told her in no uncertain terms she did not know me, she should not judge me, that she was rude, demeaning and unkind, and I regret raising my voice so all customers could hear that, but I will never regret standing up to a full-time paid bully who represents Royal Mail and the Post Office. Complaint made. '**Edited to add reply to response from owner** Thank you for your reply. However I think you are very much mistaken about this being a 'clash of personalities.' I was a customer in your shop who watched the same clerk sort out the differentiation of cash for another customer and smiled at her. This is the same clerk who 1 minute later gave me an icy stare. I wonder why that was? Who antagonised me; who was vindictive towards me; rude towards me and who went out of her way to be mean - over a bag of 54 quid I had been polite about. I had already been honest in how I regret my upset response, when in fact I am someone with courtesy for other human beings, but who does not take it lightly when someone such as your clerk thought me to be some sort of push over she could bully. And since you refer to me on CCTV, i.e most likely seeing my arms waving around in passion at defending myself at the exit as I responded to your bully-post-office-rep. So if you would prefer to see this situation through a superficial lens of CCTV, may I suggest having CCTV on the eyes, facial expressions and voice audio of the clerk you clearly are defending, because then you would see how rude her manner was: that is what actually happened. Your clerk was a bully, and she did judge me. If she didn't want to spend 20 seconds counting coins she should have said, but she didn't, and took her passive aggression out on me. At least I can be honest in how I responded to the situation, unlike your clerk who needs a punch bag for Christmas.

Waited in a q for 10 mins when would have been half the time if staff were doing their job and not chatting to each other whilst one serves customer and has to ask the same question 3 times because she wasn't listening 1st or 2nd time whilst the other member of staff is sorting out parcels and the q is out the door.
