A great place for a walk and a cuppa. Peaceful, calm and a place of peace and quiet just off a main road. Great volunteers in the visitors centre. Not to mention the place to buy a healthy supply of duck food for friends on the canal!

Not one to really complain however. I am a huge active Dog walker. It's a shame No Dogs are allowed. Even on a lead would be sufficient. Imagine if the sign said No children (public outrage). In this day & age Dogs play a big part in family outings & lifestyles. I for one would love to visit the nature reserve. I would score 0 if I could. so unfair.

Nice place to walk. Plenty of wild life. Not very big. No dogs allowed. Lots of ducks and birds and bugs. Kids do try to jump inside of the ponds.... quite easily done. Little cafe inside with some more animals on it and local things to sell. It's free too. So nicole little few hours to spend the day.

This is a lovely nature reserve with lots of handy information at every point. Plus, it's amazingly peaceful considering how close the ring road is! Also, the scooter available if you're mobility impaired is really a great help and things have been configured thoughtfully to allow access all over.

Lovely gem found along the Leeds to Liverpool canal. It is completely free and is an amazing place to go for a walk or go bird watching. I also love the little café inside. Is is held by lovely ladies and sells amazing homemade pastries. The café only takes cash.

A beautiful little reserve with a few hides. I was a bit disappointed that they'd drained some of the wetland but understand it was for essential maintenance work. Nice little area with three or four pools for dragonflies too. Would recommend.

A little gem right on our doorstep. Even if you aren't a wildlife expert just being here makes you feel calm and relaxed. Lovely little visitors centre serving refreshments for a pay as you feel donation. Wish it was open more days but as it is reliant on volunteers can understand why it isn't
