Couple of years ago this place was great for reasonable items. Now they think if it's old it's automatically "vintage" and increase the price dramatically.

5/ 5

My mum aged 96 had lived all her life in the same house where she was born. When she took ill on top of the worry about mum I also had the responsibility of sorting our mum's house and all her possessions and treasures. This task seemed unsurmountable for me and after a week sorting through everything and over faced by the whole situation, I contacted St Joseph's House clearance. I spoke to the lovely Jo who came along to the house to advise me the best way forward. They were just amazing; I was able to take all the items that I wanted and then just left the rest to them. They took the keys so that I didn't have to be there and watch all my past being removed. The following day they returned the keys and when I visited, they had cleared everything and tidied the whole house. It really made what could have been a very difficult time much easier

I rang this shop to offer them a lovely, unusual cabinet that was solid pine but they refused it simply because I'd up-cycled it and it's now white. I thought they were there to raise money for a worthy cause which the cabinet would have easily done. I've got lots of other things to donate but they'll now be donated elsewhere.

Horrendous experience, Mrs bought a bed here because we were in desperate need of one. They delivered it unfortunately it couldn't fit upstairs because it won't come apart, now I accept that we lose the money for delivery and the cost of taking the bed back. However the guys delivering the bed told us to come to the shop and get a refund, which we attempted to find that the shop was shut. Now we finally get there on Monday and they give us £150 in credit? A credit note for a charity shop? I don't think so. We want our money back, this is an utterly ridiculous practice and you people should be ashamed of yourselves. I want our money back. I'll be informing every single person of the practices of this store, the archaic nature of their refund policy. We have every right to our money back and I want this sorted. Don't waste your time shopping here.
