I have been with this surgery for 14.5 years and despite the presures all GP surgeries are under, all the staff do their best to be very professional and offer the best care. Dr Shapiro and Dr Fraser are my 'go-to' doctors because they've both been there since our family first joined the practice, and they are the most experienced and senior doctors. I have also taken my children to the others and have not been disappointed. Thank you Wood Lane practice for all the care you give to all the patients you look after!

Been with this surgery for 29ish years . Never thought I would be leaving a 1 star review. For what feels like a life time I am on hold with the doctors waiting for advice, Currently been waiting on hold for 34 minutes. Just disgusting ! I once drove all the way from southend on sea to the surgery on hold and still not answered the phone by the time I got there . When you get through there is a minimum wait to see the Doctor of 4 weeks, longest I've personally had was 8 weeks to which I arrived was told the wait is 2 hours as he was running behind . Absolute liberty ! Shouldn't have as many patients if you cant see them all. I really hope the NHS look in to this practice as its night and day from what it once was and even then it wasn't amazing . Leaving the doctors now for another practice .

I have been a patient of this practice for a long time and am surprised by some of the reviews posted here. I have found the staff to be professional and thorough. There have been a couple of times when I have disagreed with them, but the matters have always been resolved in a professional way. I do have to wait longer than I would wish for an appointment, but we all know that GP services are stretched to the utmost, which isn't helped by people attending the surgery just to demand free prescriptions for over the counter medicines, and directing vile abuse at the practice staff.

Recently attended a consultation with Nurse Harris. She was absolutely amazing. She was able to assist me with all my medical concerns immediately. Would recommend her to anyone! Thank you Nurse Harris!

For routine pre 9am appointments (I.e non emergency appointments) you can't get anything within 6 weeks. When I booked a pre-9am book an appointment, it was cancelled at short notice and I would have to wait another 6 weeks. The only doctor i have seen is rude and unsympathetic. Go somewhere else!

I have been with this GP my whole life, I have always found the receptionist to be rude, they do not listen and on multiple occasions I have been told I am fine and then to be in hospital. There are a few doctors there who were okayish The only male doctor who I remember to be consistently good was doctor rose... but considering it took me 7+ years to be diagnosed with a chronic disease. which was completely avoidable if the doctors listened to me and believed me. But after all this time what has tipped me over the edge was to have a phone consult with a doctor and for them to tell me I have been basically given a gold treatment so i should be fine. I was not aware the gold treatment was to be ignored many years in pain and agony, it was like torture to be in that much pain and to not be listened to. then to have a surgery with no post op appointment and to feel in worse condition than ever. I had been let go from my job because of this illness my whole life has turned upside down. I live my life every single day in pain. If you have a chronic illness do not stay with this GP, If that is what they call their "gold treatment". I wonder if the silver treatment are the people who go undiagnosed for even longer.

Generally good if you get the right receptionist

Horrible people, waited for 20 minutes on the phone just to be told that I have to wait 2 weeks to be registered even though I called about a huge lump that had formed on my back the previous day .Only advice I was giving is to go to a walking center and when I asked the lady on the phone if they have the capacity to deal with these sort of emergency health issues she said that's not her problem as these are their policies, so my advice stay away from this practice. The other 1 star reviews don't lie.

I have been with this practice for about 15 years and I’ve made a big decision to start looking for an alternative surgery. Whilst the doctors are lovely and extremely empathetic and helpful unfortunately I can no longer deal with the rudeness and unkindness of the reception staff. When I call I am met with passive aggressive energy every time, is it me? Should I take this personally? I am deliberately warm and bubbly and positive even when I am feeling my lowest and most ill as I am aware that … what you give out is what you get back… but my interaction today was the final straw for me. I just can’t do it anymore. I cry at the thought of having to call the surgery for anything as I pre-empt their bad attitude and abrasiveness. I’ve tried and tried but at this age in my life I just want a bit of kindness. I frequently need to be in contact with my GP surgery for own ongoing medication and two children and I can’t go through the upset every month. Any ideas of kind surgeries are welcome!

I called today after receiving a text inviting me for the Covid vaccine. Wanted to check it was legit as I didn't think I was eligible (I'm 39 and not classed as vulnerable). The lady on reception was very helpful and chatty. I have also used the online consultation service in the past and have always had a response from a GP the very next day so no complaints from me! There's a Boots attached to the surgery too which is useful for picking up prescriptions.
