Crisis team sent me here to be assessed because I am suicidal, and other professionals I have seen think I have bipolar disorder and I use to be on meds for it, the woman I saw was horrible, would not give me my meds I use to take, would not admit me even though I told her when I left there I would throw myself in front of a train, she was very dismissive, and did not listen to me at all, even though I was sceaming and and crying for help and begging her to help me she didn't care that I am suicidal. Please do not go here, the staff are horrible and have no feelings, they don't care about you or your families safety, these people want you to die. And she was gaslighting me to kill myself

5/ 5

Under funded, overworked and unappreciated staff. Management should really do better. For one, more creative ward based activites are needed all the therapeutic activites are based off the ward, better food and snack options. En suite bedrooms for more privacy a flimsy curtain that gets pulled down every other day doesn't cut it. Why some wards still have dorms? It's terrifiying to be expected to share a room with aggressive people or people that don't sleep and instead spend the night walking in and out of the dorm or shouting. Why is the excuse for every single time we want to go on escorted leave that the ward is short staffed? Management needs to sort this out. A REAL zero tolerance for abuse towards staff is needed, I have seen nurses get hit, spat at, hot drinks thrown on them, slapped and verbally abused with the most vile and sometimes racist comments. Better doctors are urgently needed or should I say doctors that are actually interested in doing their jobs, anyone who has been a patient at this hospital knows what I mean, ward round is a joke!!! I gave 5 stars because I met some amazing & caring staff that went out of their way to help and I feel they should be appreciated.

Not enough staff, staff members who will shout orders at patients. The inability to seperate violent patients from vulnerable ones. Activities only suitable for 5 year-olds, activities that can help some patients are restricted to only patients with leave. Restricting days when family of patients can have meetings with doctors to discuss whats going on with treatment. Lack of communication. There is no answer unless the NHS actually pulls their socks up and puts some real care into caring for people with mental health issues.

MOUSE OR RATS RUNNING AROUND THE KITCHEN (and thats within the first 15 minute of arriving, I was talked down to by staff, when I asked for my prescribed anxiety med after a doctor had said I could have them I was physically assaulted (hit and kicked) by a nurse whom I reported to the police and gave a statement against, tried to kill myself on the ward by tying a ligature, got refused access to a phone to call into work and uni, never got read my rights, and when I asked for paperwork to pass on to my solicitor I got told no, I was never given a address to the ward, I was never told where I was, 2 days later I'm back at home left with no support and basically left to fend for myself, also one of the easiest wards I've been on to escape from. Nurse's have no respect for patients, there was racism, it was unhygenic, and staff assulting patients (yes I know the difference between reasonable force and assault). AVOID AT ALL COSTS

As a patient here who has been able to do a runner from staff twice this week the second one is now as I only wanted to go to asda a replace clothes that was stolen from me in the ward. The place is filthy and the staff are just ridiculous. Never in my life have i had such a bad experience in a mental health ward. They have no control of the patients what so ever. I have seen a mouse twice in the last week run down our corridor. They do not get involved with patients unless there is a problem. Other than that they just stay in the office. I feel like my mental state has gotten worse since my admission 8 days ago. I feel more suicidal on this ward than I did at home alone. The staff on pond ward need to visit lakeside and see how things should really be done. I advise everyone to try avoid here if you need an admission as the place is out of control. Sincerely, janinne Kerrigan.

If I could give zero I'd give zero. There is no transparency. You have to constantly fight with nurses to get the right information and they still give false information. If I had authority over this hospital I would make lots of changes. First of all the staff are unprofessional, not well trained and rude. This goes for quite few of the staff I have dealt with. It is shame on the NHS and on this country to have such respresentatives. Pond ward where I have dealt with the staff; some are liers, disorganised and unethical.

The mental health services are completely underfunded. People with mental health problems are not being taken care of. There was a junior nurse laughing at a woman who was having a breakdown and screaming. I understand it’s a lot to deal with but if you sign up to do this job you can’t treat people like that. Rooms are not cleaned between visits, beds are not made, it’s such an awful place and it’s where we are leaving our most vulnerable people. There are also some great staff who are trying their best and completely overworked and under appreciated however I don’t think the public would really believe the level of care we give those who often don’t have a voice
