I needed to store some furniture as I was down sizing where I was staying. Arranging the self storage with Shurguard at Greenford was easy enough and I paid the money. However, when I tried to gain access to the self storage area at about 6.30pm with my van load of furniture I entered my access PIN correctly but the gate refused to open. I tried and tried without success. As their site office was closed I rang the out of hours number. I spoke to a guy who was from a security company and told him I could not access the storage area. He said he would contact Shurguard roaming patrol. He got back to me and said Shurguard would not come out to help as they could not verify who I was!! I had all my Shurguard paperwork, had my access PIN and I had my driving licence but apparently that wasn’t enough?? By now there were 3 other customers trying to get in without success. Two of them said it was a common occurrence for the gate not open. The van I was using was a hire van and I had to get it back by 8pm so as not to incur another £70 charge. Beware of Greenford Shurguard if you want to access it after their site office closes as you might not get access. Shoddy service.
