I'd bought 10 sturdy boxes from Shurgard Ruislip, but found I needed five more. When I went back into Shurgard Ruislip the only member of staff was giving a customer on the telephone a berating. It was very uncomfortable! I nearly left; especially as I was waiting a while to be served. When the staff member had finished her chastisement she helped me pick out the boxes - after paying I was glad to leave. But she'd sold me the wrong boxes so I had to return the next day only to find that Shurgard will not exchange items, even when they've messed up. I was astounded. I wasn't asking for a refund, just the same boxes I'd already purchased so they stacked neatly. Thankfully I called my bank who refunded my account as I'd paid on my debit card. My bank suggested I speak to Trading Standards, which I did, who step in if a pattern forms. My advice is if you use Shurgard be doubly sure you're buying the correct item. Don't take the supposed expert word. I can't speak about the storage process as I don't need to store my boxes with them, but after my experience & reading some of the horror stories I personally wouldn't use Shurgard.
