I'm very rarely ill, long term unexplained abdominal pain dismissed as muscular. Changed GPs and had blood tests done after first visit, caught a number of conditions including the underlying cancer (bowel, liver, lungs) which would have been left untreated had I not chased a second opinion. Lost several months of potential treatment time. I had to fight to get seen in the first place as it was a two week wait to see someone.

A certain doctor was dismissive when my very poorly mum explained her symptoms the doctor did not take into consideration anything she tried to explain and provided no help or support regarding her current illness. This was an emergency appointment but made us feel that it wasn't. My mother was in distress with breathing problems. If it happens again I will name and complain about the doctor in question.

5/ 5

I'm not sure why all the reviews are so bad, the doctors and nurses at this surgery are really kind and caring and give the best attention they can in a surgery that is very busy. I moved and had to change drs, on moving back into the area I was pleased I could sign up to this surgery again with ease.

Doctors I find ok can be unhelpful. Reception staff are generally quite rude and I think they forget they're not doctors. Contacted about a medical issue, received email with different information than what I told the receptionist. It is 10 min appointments but waited over 27 days for an appointment once went to my appointment and waited 45 minutes. Poster saying doctors can over run by 5 min but when 45 min late. Useless when I've waited 27 days!

It's been several times already that we don't get any help from them. I wonder if there's a point for all of us to maintain a service that has proven useless. They are unable to diagnose or provide a treatment for minor temporary conditions. You have to wait until your condition gets worse, then go with your kids to the out of hours in Royal Infirmary, where they really care and solve the problem. Sadly, this is how we are getting used to deal GP consultations. Shame

Its nearly impossible to get though to anybody on the phone and when you're in dire need of medications.. in respect to myself Ashtma pumps. They make you wait almost 2 weeks to get an appointment for renewal. You wouldn't imagine they were a caring and concerned authority

5/ 5

Grateful for the care and support given by the doctors and staff at Westway Surgery for a difficult time with my health during the past year with Covid restrictions etc. Appreciate the genuine warmth and compassion shown by some of the doctors. Appreciate it hasn't been any easy 15 months for them either.
