This is much more than a hospital. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and at ease. The place is spotless, a little labyrinthine maybe, but I love it. I'm just starting my third round of radiotherapy there at time of writing this (May 3rd, 2017). The radiographers are young, full of life and grace, and treat you like a really person (regardless of whether you are or not). Love it.

Fantastic support given before, during and after treatment at a very worrying time. A bit of a maze in some areas but staff are always very helpful and caring. Outpatients can look busy but very often a couple of clinics running . Even when busy and if you needed extra support or chat always make the time to reassure you to reduce your anxieties. Have seen staff working past, the time they should of finished to finish the clinics. Very caring and compassionate. There is also other services there that they can put you in touch with from counselling, welfare, complementary therapies. A coffee shop in outpatients run I think by volunteers that sell drinks, sandwiches, magazines etc. Some times difficult to park but another car park at the back . ❤ Thank you

My mam had to go every day for a month for treatment, an older jobsworth on the door thinking she's security is nothing but a disgrace to Velindre, the way I was spoken to and dictated to was ridiculous, I had already had permission to go in with my mam never a problem with any body else when they was on the doors apart from her, say in her 60s with glasses 🤬🤬, for all the staff in the radiotherapy department that treated my mam they was absolutely fantastic caring and friendly thank you to all of them.

Generally really helpful and supportive, be aware of the jobworth woman on the main entrance who clearly need retraining. Considering this hospital is needed for life threating conditions I would have expected better than to be barked at and refused entry with my farther in a wheelchair totally unacceptable!
