Very nice pub, pictures all around, the food is great, the beer is cold and there is a variety of beers. Staff is good, quick and very professional. They gave the water flavoured with lemon and cooled down it is fantastic. Keep it up.

We went in after visiting the museum over the road and was very happy that we did. Good range of beer cask and craft. We ate lunch and the food was fantastic! Proper homemade pub food. Our 6 year old was fine to be in the pub too. Lots of choice in York but it's well worth a visit.

Absolute joke of a place! Was there with my partner who indulged in a 241 cocktail offer with dinner. After the first cocktail found it to be too sweet and sickening so politely asked if she could swap the second cocktail for another which cost less than the original and was refused. Don't understand how this can possibly be and issue. Only resulted in her not enjoying her 2nd cocktail and us swiftly leaving rather than staying for a few more rounds.

This is a great pub, fantastic decor and a very pleasant and friendly staff. The food is absolutely lovely and the portions are huge, one meal would have been enough for the two of us. I need think there was a little too much mint in the mushy peas but the rest was very nice and very filling.

The new female member of staff was struggling with knowing what drinks were available, maybe this can be done if she is properly inducted? The breakfast that I had tasted like it had been on a hotplate for a while and the eggs were partially burnt and I did point this out to the member of staff. A querky place with character.
