Nice pub close to the river (the car park has a river side view and the pub is across the road). Great beer garden with plenty of seating, friendly service, great atmosphere and a good selection of drinks. Only stopped for a quick drink, although the food at the other tables looked great, so will come back again for lunch.

I did a reluctant 4 mile river walk with the promise of food and drinks at the end with friend and hubby! We were not disappointed the food was superb. My friend had a salmon omelette and hubby had the steak and ale pie, I had the baguette with beef horseradish and fried onions. We all loved it, and to top it all real home made chips! The staff were lovely and the service spot on. Another 4 mile walk next week I think! :)

Sep 15, 2021 Update: Previous visit was excellent (see earlier review) and to be fair the Fish and Chips and Butter Chicken people on the next table had looked great. However, my burger came as two small black hockey pucks that looked like they'd spent way too much time under the heat lamp. The dog, where they ended up, seemed to like them. So if you want a Burger try the Wetherspoon's in York much better burger, cheaper and they'll throw in a free pint of beer Earlier Review: Good selection of real ales. Both our meals arrived promptly, were well prepared, reasonably priced and very tasty. Nice view of the river. Recommended.
