Exceptionally rude receptionists, balanced somewhat by a handful of genuinely caring GPs. I am sure there are more courteous and understanding staff out there ready to be employed in their place. This surgery is going downhill, most unfortunately.

Have found the doctors here to be extremely rude and lacking in empathy. Have visited a number of times lately and each time been made to feel like an inconvenience. Often being pushed out the door as quick as possible. I've moved around the country a lot the last 10 years and I've never been left feeling so hopeless as I have by the doctors I've seen at this surgery. It's the NHS so I don't expect the red carpet treatment, but I do expect compassion, common courtesy and support. You won't find those here. Look elsewhere if you're new in town.

The recpetionists try their hardest but come off as rude to alot of patients. Everytime I have gone to an appointment regarding my health- the issue gets ignored. For example, I went to an appointment asking if there was any way they could do something about my lack of breath and ability to breathe when exercising. I was told that I was just anxious and I should exercise with older people as they 'Wont mind the breathing noise as they can't breathe either'.

After several months of hospital admittance, homecare, due to severe chronic pain, difficulties in mobility, incontintence, sleep deprivation, amongst other issues. I have struggled to get pain relief, diagnosis’s, correct care. I handed in repeat requests to be told I hadn’t, told to wait another 72hrs for my medication, told I had to come in with another request, and refused to have a dr call back even though it was the surgery that had misplaced my repeat request, by this point I had no pain relief left, no help offered by surgery, which resulted in an ambulance taking me into hospital to try manage the pain. It’s almost impossible to get appointments, and even though theyre well aware that I’m housebound, they still refused call outs. They lack understanding and empathy massively! I have been misprescribed medications even though I voiced strongly I am prone to having adverse reactions due to medical chemical sensitivity.. put on medications that then led to heavy rectum bleeding, and abdominal cramping, still, they then left me a week before putting me on something else. I finally get diagnosed 4 months later after being pushed from pilar to post, between derriford, Cumberland centre, district nurses to still not be given strong enough pain relief to be able to manage even day to day activities, eat, sleep, or move, the pain is so severe and all the things that are available they refuse to give and expect me to suffer and cope. Absolutely disgusting, the whole idea of healthcare professionals is to help and ease pain for their patients. The receptionist staff are rude and just as unsympathetic as the doctors, the whole surgery is diabolical. Medical negligence at its finest. Strongly advise finding another surgery even if it means travelling further to be looked after correctly. Never in my life have I ever experienced such poor care.

I can not forget how the receptionist looked at me when I asked her to help me to get the copy of my blood result soon as possible after waiting 30 min. Only for the copy of my test results. Maybe it was the only option for her telling me to wait, but not very pleasant way. Also, it was not very helpful through giving me the wrong consent form which was one of the reason of delay. Wish I can move my GP asap, I know they are busy but have time to talk about having sugar or not in their cup of tea, but no time to give kindness to patients.

Never have I felt the need to change doctors without moving house before. Never had a nice female doctor, lost blood tests and generally they couldn't care less if they tried. I've got problems I'm still suffering with but they just dont care to help. The receptionists are actually polite. I've seen 2 male doctors here and they were lovely but only seen them once. But I'll soon be registering else where.

St Levans Surgery has always been fantastic but even through the pandemic if you call for a phone back you get that call same day and if an appointment is needed you get in same day. The receptionist are fantastic as are the doctors. Thank you for an exceptional service even during these tough times.

Reading through the comments it's a shame to see that is wasn't just me and the person I support being talked to rudely by the reception staff well one in particular. And I only said thank you on the way out. Shame on her!

Always been helpful long time waiting for a call back but they are doctors and extremely busy. The telephone service is a little annoying when it hangs up after waiting for a someone to pick up but again same as other doctors, friendly staff, by far the best doctors I've had and highly recommend them.
