Part 2 of 2 cont......... The room was turned around for our evening reception where we had another 50 guests joining us – at no time did this feel too many within the space. There was a slight overrun on the turning of the room, but with the bar downstairs, the lounge that we had used earlier and an outside terrace all open and available there were plenty of spaces for us to greet our guests before moving back to the Walnut room. We had a buffet in this space (I personally didn’t actually get to try this due to getting wrapped up in all the celebrations and congratulations!) but the feedback we’ve received has been very positive as once again the kitchen team delivered. We’d ordered some cupcakes and these were kindly presented on the buffet along with more of the cheese from our wedding cake. There was plenty of space for guests to dance, but also have a seat or just a catch up in the walnut bar adjacent to the walnut room that was also open for our private use. A miscommunication in regards to the upstairs bar closing prior to the event ending was quickly resolved and the celebrations continued through to their end at which point we retired to the honeymoon suite that we had booked for the evening. The room was gorgeous – very ornate and definitely worthy of its title. It had a separate seating area, multiple bathrooms! and is a truly stunning room to retire too as a married couple. In the morning we had breakfast in the restaurant – much like all the other food we had been served this too was wonderful. Served really promptly with, again, really quality produce and lovely service. James had put aside the leftover cupcakes and cheese for us and packed it up for us to take home – the team at St. Giles really did go above and beyond to look after us throughout our dealings with them and help make it as special as it was. We can’t wait to hold another event there – the space, the staff and food were amazing – it’s a gem of a hotel and we feel really, really grateful and lucky to have found it and had our needs accommodated. A massive thank you to Jade and the team.

4/ 5

Lovely older style hotel, public areas well maintained and the service was lovely. Bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean, well furnished and bright and spacious. Not a great view from balcony window but did not detract from our stay. Visited the Spa which was amazing, again super clean and the girls were really sweet and good at their jobs. Thoroughly enjoyed both the beauty treatments and our overnight stay. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely visit again.

Nice 17 room 4 star hotel. Very sophisticated vibe and great staff. Not as expensive as some think.

Nice 17 room 4 star hotel. Very sophisticated vibe and great staff. Not as expensive as some think. Cheap on site parking - £5 for 24 hrs. Right in the town centre. Will be back. Lovely and clean rooms, with comfortable beds.

My husband and I recently got married at the St Giles House hotel and I can not recommend them enough! They helped us make everything exactly as we wanted it even with COVID restrictions. We had the perfect day - the venue is beautiful and the staff were so helpful. The food was delicious and our guests were very complimentary about the whole day.

I brought my 2 boys for an overnight stay. The staff were great. The room was lovely, and all set up with an extra bed. Also, the WiFi strength and speed were good - a huge bonus!
