Appointment took ages. Can only phone in for appointment at 8am but I’ve tried over 100 of times to call where the line was always busy until 8.30 but still cannot get an appointment. Receptionist was truly rude and unprofessional. She sounds like she comes from hell and everybody needs to die before her. Joke.

This is where my favourite doctor I've ever had is located (Dr Phipps) so I don't want to change my doctors. But the reception is absolutely a joke, I have tried getting through to them and called 138 times without 1 single answer. Apparently I can't make an appointment 2-3 weeks in advance and then when I call when they suggest I do no one ever answers. I have had receptionists tell me I should be more on top of my prescriptions for example, and call in advance. I've even been sent away from reception in the building and told to call another day. I am sick of being blamed for running out of my medication which I can not miss it all instead of a receptionist doing their actual jobs. Doctors there are amazing but reception needs to change or get retrained and drill into their heads that they are not the doctor so they need to stop acting like they are.

Most unhelpful receptionist ever!!!! Chubby woman, bobbed hair and glasses. She needs to learn some serious customer service skills. She is so rude & abrupt. The other receptionists are helpful & go out their way to help but she brings the whole place down.

Impossible to make an appointment. Absolute joke.

It took two weeks for my repeat prescription to be processed and sent to the pharmacy. Leaving me with no medication for 6 days. This is not the first time, it is only the worst occasion that has left me the longest without medication. The receptionist gave no apology for the slip taking two weeks to leave their practice, no acknowledgement that they had screwed up, only saying that she doesn’t know what happened. Unfortunately, every gp practice in the area is equally useless, otherwise I would move practice. Maybe I should just move out of Edinburgh. They could not care less that I am now suffering intense withdrawal symptoms and have had to cancel work because of their screw up.

I've been going to this Doctors surgery for just over 20 years, the doctors are good but the reception staff are horrendous! There used to be a couple of nice receptionists working there but now they all seem to be completely incompetent, rude and unhelpful. They're definitely in the wrong job and should be replaced immediately.

I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. The practice management should be ashamed of the way the staff members conduct themselves!! This is a medical practice!! Your staff should be able to understand basic English. The office manager is a total liability on the phone. Told me she would fix the issue and then never did it and the next person that picked up the phone was just as incompetent and rude! Huffing and puffing over the phone to me! As per the previous reviews left by people who use the practice they clearly employ people that can’t be bothered or don’t care! I’ll be speaking to the practice manager ASAP. Raising my concerns externally as I feel this practice needs a review externally and moving practice as soon as I can!

Absolutely terrible place. I cannot get to a doctor there. They gave a phone number for the reception but I'm pretty sure that most of the day nobody is there to pick it up. It puts you on hold for 5 minutes then there is a a message saying "Please stay on the line. Your call is important to us", then a free signal for 30 seconds and another message "Currenlty we are experiencing high volume of calls. Please hang up and call later". And that's 20 times today. Absolutely terrible service. Avoid!
