The selborne was excellent in inserting my daughter to support her, because we moved to London from Italy for almost a year, my daughter could not read write and do math. In a year she has done so much and improved so much, she loves going to school and loves teachers because they were very wonderful and she is recovering everything with serenity and enthusiasm. Thanks for everything Their work is really great. :)

The school were very helpful in supporting my sons transition to a special needs school to support his ASD/ADHD needs. They worked with us to support him whilst attending Selborne (giving him access to resources such as on line maths tutors as this was a topic he excelled at). It became apparent he needed more support in a smaller specialist school setting and we were fully supported as a family in making the right decision for our son. The teachers are dedicated to helping children achieve their best academically and my daughter who still attends the school is well supported with extra tuition provided by the teachers after school at no cost to parents. Expectations and aspirations are high and the communication and support from the school has always been excellent. The headteacher and teachers are approachable and swiftly resolve any concerns. Always looking to improve their offering, the extra curricular activities are the best I have seen (direct experience of 7 schools with all my children, and working closely with a variety of London primary schools in a voluntary capacity). The sports offering is a particular strength and the children are given access to free coaching from local professional sports teams, along with free tickets for the family to enjoy spectating events such as London Broncos. I would not hesitate to recommend this school to local parents. It is a caring, nurturing and safe environment.

Definitely will not recommend the ARP unit of selborne school to no one as it didn’t meet the educational need of my child. The ARP staff not up to standard and the school more interested in the financial benefit gain of the ARP unit than meeting the educational need of each child. The parents are suffering in silence and am not the only one.

Selborne Primary School is truly ‘Outstanding’. I am really glad and content that my children are attending Selborne; I won’t think twice of any other better school than Selborne. Huge Thanks to Mrs Shilling and all the staff for all the hard work, effort and support to provide the pupils, not just the best and finest education; as well, ‘all round development’ of every child. Therefore, the pupils are equipped with the necessary skills to be respectful, well-behaved, well-representative, confident, independent, and successful citizens of tomorrow. I would like to share the amazing and prosperous Bonfire and Firework Event at Selborne Primary School. I was so fascinated and impressed by the extreme safety procedures during the event. The supervision and watching out, that everyone and specially children are safe, was followed even at the end of the event, making sure that all the children were leaving with their parents. One gate was open for the entry and exit, as well the way to KS1 playground and beyond was closed; so the whole event was in specific area of the school. Everything was well planned and arranged. The stalls of variety novelties and glow sticks, the handy bags of popcorn and designed packets of sweets, the refreshments and BBQ, were displayed in a well presented way. Burgers and hotdogs were well done and quickly prepared, served in couple of minutes to the guests who can choose from variety of toppings displayed on the table. No frustrated parents and children from waiting in long queues. The order system worked out properly. The games as football and basketball; as well face painting, were popular activities during the event. Music around for joy and pleasure. Bonfire site was enormously and fully controllable; spreading brightness and warmth. At the end, everybody gathered and watched with delight the amazing firework display along with the music instrumental songs. It was a pleasure to watch the whole Selborne Community happily and excitedly meeting; staff assisting and supporting, parents and children enjoying. Selborne is lucky to have a wonderful hard working team able to manage and organise this special event, which is considered ‘The Talk of the Town’. Everybody wait for it from year to year and talk proudly about it. A Big Thanks for Mrs Shilling and all the staff for making this event successful every year. The planning, preparation, coordination and team work are the key elements to deliver an exceptional and spectacular Bonfire and Firework Event!

5/ 5

Mrs Shilling and her team have been working hard to improve the schools old reputation and actively involve all students and parents with its improvements via class- and school-based projects and the newly reformed PTA. The kids do have to work hard and are expected to follow the school rules of respect, persistence, organisation, confidence, getting along and resilience but they are also given loads of opportunity to play hard with a wide and varied range of lunchtime and after-school activities. If there are any problems, it is easy to talk to the teachers or administration team as required and any problems appear to be resolved quickly. The way everyone works together means that this is a strong community-based school helping to provide their students with a good start in gaining a promising future.

My children feel very safe and happy in this 'Outstanding' School. I feel that the Teachers are incredibly supportive and encourage the children to achieve their best. They also install respect and confidence in the children, which assists them in their future endeavours. I am very proud to have Selborne as our local multi cultural school.

Out standing school! Mrs Shilling and her team are doing an amazing job. I am so glad my children attend this school, with all the extra support and excellent teaching methods used. It's a great community with the parents, teachers and children working together.

The teaching staff are amazing and deserve a million stars. However the management is a joke. They have a way of thinking that is as they have been granted outstanding they don't need to improve. The outdoor play equipment is not suitable for the age groups and the school mixes very little children with much older children. My daughter came home almost daily with accident forms caused by playing with children too big and when I took this up with the head I was called paranoid. My daughter told me on numerous occasions that older boys had hit her not what had been written on the forms. The school have got the accident forms wrong on numerous occasions. Also this schools business manager needs to attend a course on customer service. If the school ever need anything they are so hot on emails texts calls ETC but it is difficult to get a straight answer from them on anything. The school list over 100 pounds worth of jumpers in one term and do not have any other option than to buy them from one supplier. (No sew on badges for generic jumpers) and everything even shirts have to have the school logo. This school does not think about the surrounding families and costs involved with this closed type of uniform. As I said the teachers here in reception are great. But I am glad my child no longer attends this school due to the management.
