Looks good from the outside but inside is another matter. Rooms are nice and big but dated furniture. Bathroom had nice space that's all I can say. Had to ask for towels as they only provided 3 towels for 4 people and bath mat. Had to request for sugar as they hadn't provided enough. Staff are helpful.

2/ 5

Three night stay was more than enough, bed was very hard and not conducive to a good night's sleep. Breakfast was poor, with no cereals, no toast and no fried eggs. Cleanliness left much to be desired with one pat of butter remaining under one of the tables for the duration of our stay.

5/ 5

Lovely stylish main building. Generously sized rooms and meals. Covid restrictions meant limited menu but we had a lovely roast dinner in the evening and very nice full English for breakfast. Good value. Everything was clean and seemed newly decorated. Shame about the rather stiff new door locks though. Much banging of doors by people well into the night (but you get this anyway in hotels)!

I spend 4 nights a week in hotels as I travel for work. Usually I'm spending around £35 a night, so I was quite happy to see this room for £28. You look at the reviews and it makes it sound like an absolute dive! I arrived to the beautiful hotel around 21:00 and its you can see, it was very pleasant to the eye. Walking into the main entrance it was as you'd expect from an older hotel, big beautiful area and yes looked old but classy. Walked down a lovely clean corridor to my room, the room was a great size, had all the facilities I needed and the bed was very comfortable, albeit two single beds together. There was a smell in the room, I could only describe as a musty smell, like your nans living room. The furniture was also very dated, I had a tilted lampshade and no plug for the sink, the shower did leak a little bit but other than that it was a great night for me. If you're looking for a bed and a shower, you can't complain at the price! I'll definitely pick this again if I'm in the area.
