One of the mornings I wanted to book the appointment for my mom and sister as they asked me to help. Afternoon appointment, all clear. Called in, reception did not answer until 8.30, before that it was referring call to 111. Finally during the call I've been told that they can only get appointments in the morning and not afternoon. If I want afternoon appointment, I should go to walk in services. My dad booked appointments today himself, for afternoon and suspected me lying. These scumbags lies about appointment setting on the call! And calls are recorded aren't they? Absolutely disgusting treatment simply because I speak with an accent? Receptionist was a bit racist maybe? Never been so furious in my life. I will take this further, believe me!

The receptionist staff need some customer service training. I was recently stood in front of the reception desk, with no other patients around. The receptionist was sat immediately in front of me on the computer, I waited patiently for some 60+ seconds before being acknowledged. In that time the receptionist desperately avoided eye contact or even looking at me while she presumably finished her email. I’m sure these staff have to deal with some rubbish from patients, but they’re certainly not helping themselves by being blatantly rude from the outset. I‘m sure if any of the partners of this practice received the same service anywhere else they would be very unhappy. Can you imagine walking into any other business, standing in front of the receptionist and being totally ignored for an entire minute, literally not even a smile or a “I’ll be with you in a moment”? Please provide adequate training for your staff. They are representing your business.

Best surgery i've ever been registered with. GP's are understanding about my conditions and go above and beyond to help. Contrary to some of the comments on here i've been referred to specialists with such rare conditions i didnt think was possible. I've always been able to get help very quickly. Receptionships have also been so helpful that they deal with my queries completely, often, saving me an appointment and saving me time and the GP's time for people who need it more. All round brilliant.

I called the surgery on Monday afternoon the 22/11/21 to get an appointment for my son who was struggling with what turned out to be a chest infection. Granted it took a few attempts to get through to the surgery but they were clearly very busy, when i did get through the lady on reception was very helpful and really empathetic to my sons situation.Within the hour a doctor called my son back and arranged to see him soon after where he was prescribed antibiotics. Having read some of the negative reviews i felt the need to give a positive one and say thank you to the surgery for the excellent service we received on that day.

A close family member is registered with this surgery. My elderly and frail relative has been afraid to go out over the past 18 months due to the Covid pandemic. This doctors surgery would not accept a telephone call to order repeat prescriptions and insisted that my relative had to go to the surgery and post the request for repeat prescription in their post box. My elderly relative does not have access to the internet so cannot order on line and they do not drive. I can not get my breath even after I tried to reason with the practice manager she would not budge. IT IS APPALING UPHOLDING THIS DISCRIMINATORY BLANKET POLICY IN THIS CLIMATE.

Every time you ring up for an appointment, you’re told you have to go on the call back list, even after explaining the issue, and even if it’s something that obviously needs to be seen by a doctor/nurse in person. This seems like a waste of a phone appointment, and could actually go to someone who would benefit from it. Consistently told by receptionists that they’re really busy, and that there is always a doctor off sick, hence the wait times. Consistently running late, consistently told to contact the surgery before 9am if a same day appointment is required, but can’t ever actually get through to speak to anyone. The whole place needs completely rethinking.

Want to see a doctor? Try NHS 111. Want to speak to a receptionist? They're almost as difficult to get hold of as the doctors. I haven't even managed to get into the hold queue yet. It's constantly busy...

All my interactions with this GP surgery have been overwhelmingly positive and the support I have received has been exemplary. I'm baffled by the bad reviews that only reflect an overburdened health system and do not reflect the service provided by Richmond Medical Centre and its staff at all.
