As a guest at a wedding I have to say this was a superb venue! I do not remember it being so nice here but me and my family were so impressed. Staff could not be nicer and the gardens were a huge surprise! We managed to get fabulous photos in what we called * the secret garden* highly recommend a visit! Staff so welcoming.

Absolutely disgusted with their service. Paid for passport application to be checked. Tried numerous times to book an appointment with them taking my contact details to arrange it. No call back. Only after speaking to manager I managed to book it. A day after they called back to cancel it and told me to go to PO as according to them I didn't need one. Asked for a refundable refund only to be told that a fee is non-refundable. What a bunch of unorganized and unprofessional people!

Getting married is one of the most important things anyone can do in their life, it’s also one of the most exciting. My wife to be and I love York and it holds very special memories for us. So when the question of “where shall we get married” was raised the answer was very obvious. Unfortunately after three separate phone calls and been told someone would phone us back..... nobody ever did. Such a disappointment...... we have now booked to be married at Oulton Hall in Rothwell who’s Marriage Coordinator “Caroline” was so helpful and courteous. York Register Office....... 1/10, poor customer service and zero help. Appauling!
