I am giving Bradgate and it's team a 5 star rating. As a patient, I understand that these days it may be necessary to wait for appointments. Frustrating yes, especially if pain is present, but often a telephone appointment can be offered in the interim. I can only speak from personal experience and have been incredibly grateful for the care received.

After the merger took place I was again very lucky to be able to be part of a great team of doctors nurses & admin staff who all gave a very high standard of care not only in the surgery but also out in the community.

3/ 5

Most of the staff are friendly but please please sort the prescription service out. My prescriptions are always incorrect, often have the wrong item requested and occasionally has things missing and one time I was told it was accidentally left in a tray after originally being told it had been processed!? I don't like to complain but I have said something numerous times and its a bit ridiculous now that it keeps being wrong. All it is, is attention to detail so please be a bit more careful when reading as myself and others rely on our medication to literally stay alive. As I said, I don't like to complain but I'm not sure what else to do when its always wrong. I always check and re-check my requests so I know its nothing on my end. Thank you.

There's one very helpful lady at reception, I'm not sure of her name but she really goes out of her way to make sure you see the people you need to see in a timely manner. She's always in a good mood when she answers the phone and is very understanding when it comes to correcting prescriptions. The surgery only lost a star because they often get my prescriptions wrong which can be annoying but are always good and polite about fixing it.

The lady at the reception didn't check properly my GP booking so she sent me home and said to rebook, and after a few minutes the doctor called me saying I didn't show up. Very disappointed! For what is the computer system if she can't see why I'm there and when?! ( Today 03-06-2021)

I have been with this GP surgery for many of my adult years. They have supported my family with various health issues. However, I did not appreciate fully how excellent this surgery was until they saved my 15 year old daughter's life. In October 2020 my daughter was taken ill. She complained of a intense headache on the Friday. I stayed in contact with other health services over the weekend but the headache became worst. By Tuesday, I contacted Bradgate surgery and they asked my daughter to come in to be examined. Immediately the practitioner noticed erratic behaviour from my daughter and then nothing..... (she remained conscious but was no longer communicating). The practitioner immediately checked my daughters eyes and noticed her right eye did not react to light, indicating a possible seizure (although this would not have been obvious as my daughter was very still whilst laying on my shoulder). The practitioner maintained her professionalism remained calm and seeked immediate emergency services whilst trying to also reassure and keep me informed as she continued to monitor my daughter. She was blue lighted to the hospital with suspected Meningitis. The paramedics also were outstanding. My 15 year old sporty daughter was diagnosed with Meningoechephalitis (infection of the brain and surrounding area) of an unknown origin. My daughter was discharged from hospital several weeks later. The GP surgery contacted us as part of their aftercare service which is outstanding. They help to organise repeat prescriptions and are able to access external support for parents and children. The care is outstanding Thank you all at pioneer medical group (bradgate surgery).
