4/ 5

Went to the Novotel Geelong for a long weekend. We had room 520 which has a great view of the Geelong foreshore and the Giant Sky wheel at night. On the Saturday an unexpected bonus was all the classic cars cruising the foreshore so I sat out on the balcony and watched some great cars go past. Staff were attentive and everything went well. We didn't really have to wait or queue even though it was a long weekend so that was good. Ordered room service a couple of times, was a bit confusing what we could and couldn't order for room service, but we sorted that out quickly on the phone. Overall Geelong has changed a lot since I was last there, heaps of restaurants and things to do especially when the weather is warm.

For over $700 per night you would expect at least water in the fridge. No snacks at all. We had to put a sheet up on the bathroom door as when the door was fully closed, there were big gaps on both sides that everyone in the room could see you through. The sofa bed had 2 metal bars making it impossible to sleep on. At that price you would also expect free parking but we had to pay $27 per night. The staff were wonderful especially a young lady named Annalise (sorry if that was misspelt), she is definitely a credit to your team. We definitely paid for the view and location because there were no other stand outs in this establishment. I would not recommend the breakfast buffet. Pretty average and I ordered an omelette which was still raw egg in the centre. When I booked, I was asked if we were travelling for any special occasion. I told them it was my sons birthday and they said they had made a note of it. I'm not sure why they asked because nothing was mentioned. He would have felt special with even a happy birthday. I really wish I had better things to say but won't be revisiting this one.

5/ 5

Perfect location right across from the beach. Rooms were very clean and equipped with all your needs for a short getaway, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. On site restaurant or great restaurants within walking distance with great views of the bay.
