Nice location. Shower room nice and decent ground coffee served in rooms as self service rather than instant coffee. Downside is rooms were way too small. Felt cramped. Windows too low down to see out of if you’re over 5ft 10. Way over priced for what it was. Should have been half the price. I stayed in rooms half the price this week and they were bigger and better. I did tell the duty manager the room was surprisingly way below expectations and he offered me a refund but it was way too late in the evening to move hotel 30 miles away and I didn’t know how to get a refund from hotels.com. He offered me another room but it was hardly any bigger. Probably offering me complimentary drinks might have helped. The rooms are basically in a barn/shed and too small to feel luxurious, no matter how many bells and whistles one adds.

The hotel is beautiful and in such a lovely quiet area. The room was small but clean and cute, but there was a terrible damp smell from our bathroom that we could not get rid of. The spa was lovely too, except for the fact we had to pay £25 each just to use it... The only thing I would say was that the whole stay was VERY expensive for what we got. We were there for 2 nights - and you had to pay to use the spa, and the bikes too. Which is a bit steep and weird given that we are already paying £600 just for the room... it defo was not worth the almost 1k spend there, despite it being a nice hotel. Overall though I would 100% recommend this hotel. It is beautiful and the staff were very lovely

Never write bad reviews normally but last night we had a truly terrible experience. Paid £430 for a dog friendly room. Stains on the carpet, side of bed and chair. Only one bedside table and horrible spotlights, only one lamp as an option for "soft lighting" with an awful coloured light from it. Basic room to say the least. Very dated bathroom and the stairway handle was falling off the wall. Ended up in tears as I was so disappointed after spending so much and looking forward to it so much. It was to be the highlight of our trip to the Cotswolds and ended up driving an hour and a half back home to our flat in London at 10.30 at night. Grounds are lovely and had a nice afternoon tea by the river but thats where it ended. That price didn't even include use of the basic spa or bikes etc. Madness. Will be surprised if this hotel survives. Formal complaint has been made. Avoid staying at all costs - such a waste of money - so many other beautiful places to stay in the Cotswolds for a fraction of the price (it was over twice as expensive as our previous two hotels!)
