I studied for a HNC in Computer Studies from 1992-1994 at the University of Glamorgan spending most of my time in J Block, the labs and the library of course. There were some extremely good Lecturers there. I studied Project Management, Systems Analysis, Data Modelling, Process Management and Software Design and Development. The Languages studied were Turbo Pascal, COBOL and Oracle, which was SQ based.

4/ 5

I studied Computing at University of South Wales, formerly known as the University of Glamorgan. Originally starting from an HND course, i felt that i have learned a lot over the 4 years I spent here. There are campuses spread all around South Wales, 2 in Newport (Newport City and Caerleon) 1 in Cardiff (Atrium) and 2 in Treforest in the valleys (Treforest and Glyntaf). Majority of courses are taught in the Treforest and Glyntaf campuses with more media and design based courses taught at the campuses. All campuses are in a nice area and offer a range of places for a student from a gym, cafe and advice centre's as well as an SU. The surrounding areas offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants too with easy access to all campuses via train and road. Accommodation-wise, treforest offers student halls as well as private accommodation in housing (pretty much every house in the campus area is a student house) Cardiff offers student halls (Student castle, Liberty Halls) shared with the other uni's in the area (Cardiff and Cardiff Met) as well as more private accommodation including what is effectively 2 districts a student only area (Cathays and Roath). Both areas have easy access to transport links to get around. The uni offers a lot support for students from career advice to mental well being checks and all lecture work is well written with most lecturers going out of their way to help if you need help. A good university.
