The library is not worth visiting, not a lot of selection at all. Children book section is quite small, science section is only a couple of books which are mostly outdated, sci-fi section is tiny and contains mostly fantasy books which are clearly not in the right section. Became a member for the kids - but am really disappointed.

I visited to enquire about the first floor Art Wall and the member of staff I approached couldn't have been more helpful. She found a copy of the form I needed to fill in and gave it to me with a brief but clear explanation about the hiring conditions. This is a free space for Artists and community groups to show 2D work in the heart of the community. Brilliant stuff.

The brunette lady was very un-helpful and rude. I wanted to print a few pages and was told she can't help me. The only library I've ever been to where you can't print anything.

2/ 5

The purpose of my visit was to register my child’s birth. We arrived earlier than our appointment and proceeded to wait however, by 11:13 my child required a nappy change. I asked a librarian where the nappy changing facilities were, to which she directed me. During this, my partner remained at the table to wait for the woman who was due to register his birth. When she greeted him, she coldly and rudely demanded my presence immediately because we were deemed “late”. He was ordered to come to the changing room to “hurry me along”, making an immense fuss over me having to change my child’s soiled nappy. As I was leaving the changing room, I overheard the aforementioned librarian defending my choice to change my nappy and the registrar woman stomping away! I am completely disgusted that my child was made to feel as an inconvenience because of his hygiene demands. This was supposed to be an overwhelming joyous experience and it was the complete opposite. Eye contact throughout this exchange was non-existent and I’ve genuinely had more enjoyable experiences during a funeral. We were also told to “practice” using the fountain pen before signing the certificate; this comment was unbelievably patronising and the use of a fountain pen is utterly ridiculous; just stick to a biro because the allotted appointment time frame doesn’t account for such frivolous actions. I only give 2 stars due to the librarians actions of pure and genuine kindness and sincerity for mine and my family’s wellbeing. I will not encourage anyone to use the registrar in Keynsham; a complete wet blanket and disgrace to the Keynsham community.
