The kitchen staff are conversing in Italian. The service is snappy and efficient. The wine is easily drunk and the smells coming from the kitchen are nothing short of heavenly. A friendly Italian waiter smiles at you and puts a pizza on your table. It's crispy at the sides and you can smell wood fired dough and faint notes of citrus from the sauce. This is, to the best of my knowledge, the best Italian restaurant in York. It may well be the best independent restaurant in the city full stop. Paolo, the owner, is mingling among the patrons and laughing and joking. The perfect host. His seafood is fresh and delicate, his pasta is perfectly cooked, his pizza is made in an authentic wood fired oven and what the hell else matters. This is the place to be. I'm already anxious to go again. Just go. You won't regret it.

Brilliant as always! A truly authentic Italian dinning experience down to the frenetic busy atmosphere, the smells form the visible kitchen and even the football on the TV. You could easily be in Italy. The food is incredible! Never disappoints unless you haven't booked!

Incredible, authentic Italian food. Best I've had outside of Italy at any price. It helps that the prices are very reasonable for what you're getting, just be sure to bring cash as it's very "traditional" in that regard as well!

Excellent as always. Great food, lively fun atmosphere and more than decent reasonably priced,house wine. Booked up again for 2 January.
