The first impression is good, even though crowded, the staff are trying their best to make our check in experience fast. The guy at the desk is quite fun and he upgraded us to the Deluxe room as the standard double that we booked has run out.
The room itself is great. Simple, clean cut just as they advertised. But then things quickly turned sour from there.
It started off with a small little detail, the tissue box in our room has run out and no refill in sight so we need to take the roll from the bathroom that luckily they did give a spare for. The TV is not a smart TV and we can’t watch netflix there. The back of the TV is super dusty which is understandable, as it’s usually out of sight but it’s a turn off once you noticed it as it’s just beside the main entrance door and the door to the bathroom so you will always passed by it. You can unsee all the dust.
Come the night was the very dissapointing experience. We booked the room to spend the new year in a clean cozy hotel room. But the led light above the bed keep sparking throughout the night (we sleep with all lights closed so it’s a very big bother). I need to take two towel to put on top of the led light to try to cover it a little bit, but it’s still noticable.
After several toss and turn, it become very obvious that the window is very much not sound proof. Since it’s the new year, the crowd are going back late, so we can hear the people saying loud goodbyes and happy new years. Then around 3am, the truck pass by to collect the glass bottle and it’s very loud and annoying considering the hotel is located on a long stretch of bars and restaurant. Lots of glass shattering sound that is ear piercing and is never ending because it’s such a long stretch of f&b, and also with the truck workers talking to each other. Then there was this one lady that is shouting so loud for no reason in the middle of the night, fighting.
By the length of this review, i think it’s pretty obvious that i don’t get any sleep. I slept 3hours, after 5am when it’s finally quiet, such an irony isn’t it. And also i realized that the bed is sinking to the middle…and it’s a king sized bed…
Overall i’m very dissapointed with the experience even tho it started out well. I just wish the hotel will take into consideration that they are in a location that will have loud noises throughout the night. Good job to the interior planner for the lighting effect and control, but no, i can’t go back another round for the sleep that i am unable to get.
