Holiday Inn Peterborough – West, an IHG Hotel – Peterborough

I'd recommend this hotel; it is conveniently located just on the outskirts of the city, easy to get to, there is ample parking, the reception team were welcoming and friendly, check in was a smooth process. The bar area was nice, plenty of seats. The room was as expected - very clean. I'd recommend the pool area for a swim and a jacuzzi - just remember to take a pound coin for the lockers. Only small criticism would the loud air conditioning unit outside the room, but it was switched off by 9pm so can't complain. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice, buffet style. Breakfast team were very friendly too - there's a great team here, well done guys!

Went for an afternoon tea that had been delayed from earlier in the year. We were greeted and seated and a glass of prosecco arrived and our drinks orders were taken. Two plates of finger sandwiches arrived, one for the vegetarian in our party. There was 6 sandwiches each, all packed with filling on very fresh soft bread. A beautiful little display arrived containing a great selection of cakes, including warm fruit scones with clotted cream and jam. On top of this, there were 5 pieces of other cake each! This was exceptional value for money, very attentive and friendly service in a very clean and relaxing location. To quote Mr Schwarzenegger....'I'll be back '

Light not working in room on checking in, still not fixed 2 days later. Requested a quiet room and was given a room directly over the main entrance! On checkout the staff didn't seem too bothered and said the light would be fixed that day! Hotel was half empty so would've been easy to move us to another room but they never even offered it to us. Offered compensation of some points on rewards scheme, but not enough for even a quarter of 1 nights stay, sums up how they value repeat custom, which they definitely aren't going to get from us.

One of my favourite shops in Stamford. Great place to go if you are struggling to find that b"day gift. Everytime I go I see a new product I want 😊. Staff friendly and very helpful 😁
