Echo what many have already stated. Receptionists typically aloof, and seem to believe they are medical professionals. Quite often terse and unhelpful. The nurses try really hard, but because of the working environment rarely stay around very long. Getting appointments is horrendous, and online is rarely easier. Getting any test results back is a trial in its own right. And repeat prescriptions are unbelievable. I take one medication which can be dosed at a maximum of eight tablets per day, am issued 100. However I can only request every 28-30 days ! 100 tablets divided by 8 per day equals 12.5 days, quite a shortfall. I do agree you rarely see the same GP twice, however the practice permanent doctors I find on the whole, really very good and they do have a lot of empathy and experience,

I've been using this third-world service for about 10 years now, it's still the same. Appointments almost impossible to make. They never answer the phone. They have ZERO care for patients on the front end, but some of the Doctors are good (some are plain stupid, how does that even happen?). All in all the worst GP service I've ever used, but it seems we're stuck with it. I guess this is why so many people are against nationalisation of services. They simply don't have to care or perform. Easy money.

The doctors themselves are good if you can actually get an appointment. No one ever seems to answer the phone even when there is no queue. Also, the receptionists can be quite unfriendly.

Can never get an appointment, Booking online is alway for an appointment 3 weeks later, the appointments are always 10-15 mins late! Which can be cery time consuming! Reception are normally lovely and helpful. All the nurses are amazing, The doctors give contradicting advise and ply you with ibuprofen if they dont know whats wrong with you. They never off blood tests or anything they look up symptoms in books which is not reassuring that have any idea what they are doing!??

Can never get an appointment. Even of you want to book weeks ahead you cant because they havent "released" the appointments yet so need to ring at 8am to get one?! Apparently the normal booking system every other business uses (e.g hairdressers, dentists, most other drs surgeries ect) isnt complicated enough for them and makes patients lives too easty. The receptionists are generally rude, uninterested and think they are medical professionals and because of the system they use, I've never ended up seeing the same dr twice and half are locums anyway! Nice building thats where the positives end.

With out doubt the nicest friendliest and professional team I have ever encountered in the health service. I registered recently, the reception staff were charming and treated me with respect and humour. I had a call from a doctor who arranged a non working hours appointment...I've never even heard of that, fantastic.10/10 for everyone, thank you all

Both me and my wife were welcomed at the side door, our details confirmed and directed around the corridor where a sheet with our details was given to us. We were immediately directed to a clinician who confirmed our details again, and then gave us the flu jab. Everyone was very pleasant and we were back out of the front door in under two minutes.

5/ 5

Harbourside is an excellent family practice. The receptionists have always been helpful, the nurses friendly and professional and the GP's thorough, professional and kind. Appointments were difficult to arrange in the past unless telephoning at exactly 08:00, but since the online booking system this is much easier. My family and I have been registered with this practice since they opened (in a tiny cabin that was somewhere near Aqua is now!) and I highly recommend them.
