1/ 5

I visited this shop very recently and didn't have a good experience. My difficulty was with male young looking member of staff with dark hair and of stocky build. I went into the shop to have a look at some shoes, although unfortunately I couldn't find anything that I wanted to buy. There was a purse that caught my eye and initially I wanted to buy it but I then changed my mind. I did buy the purse not because I wanted to, but because I was made to feel very uncomfortable by this male member of staff. The male member of staff was looking at the female colleague and then at me and making comments, such as "shese been here long" there were additional comments made. I chose to ignore this member of staff gossiping about me, because I didn't know how to handle the situation because I have never been in a situation like this before. I felt because of the way this man was watching me, gossiping about me to the female colleague, I felt pressured into buying something. I didn't know whether he thought I wanted to steal something but due to the fact I come from a wealthy lifestyle, and can afford what I buy t,hat's not something I would or need to do. Although because I didn't make an effort with what I was wearing yesterday I don't think he would have realised that I come from a privileged life. I don't know whether I was watched by this member of staff and made to feel like I had to buy something, because of a variety of reasons. The reasons could be that I wasn't necessarily dressed up so it could have been a classism issue, I am also brown skinned and I don't want to think this was a race issue. The reality is I don't know why I was treated this way. This man doesn't look like his father is a Doctor and mum is a nurse like my parents. People should be allowed to shop in peace without being watched and gossiped about by members of staff. I have to admit that the female member of staff didn't behave in the way the male did. The male did gossip to the female about me and she listened but didn't gossip about me herself. I did try to return the purse because I felt pressured into buying it. This man needs to be aware of how to treat customers because he works in customer service. Customers being made to feel uncomfortable isn't nice. Customers being pressured into buying things also isn't nice. I won't be visiting again due to my negative experience.

Good selection of footwear. Well laid out, friendly staff. Having shops that offer different styles and prices in a confined place like this outlet is a good thing. You'll always find what you're looking for!

The staff were exceptionally helpful and very accommodating. Unfortunately I ended up not buying but that was nothing to do with the shop, the price or the product, purely just because I didn't like the shoes on me 🙁
