It is a beautiful example Yorkshire heritage and great example of modern shopping
Amazing place to walk and so beautiful especially in November.
Well worth a visit if you are in Leeds
An absolute gem of Victorian architecture and style right in the city Center of Leeds, making this city even more beautiful! If are tempted to visit ... just don’t think about it, go and see for yourself!
A day out to Leeds. One of my favorite place here, I like it.
I remember these arcades County, Thorntons etc run down in the 70s, they are a joy to see now fully restored and their beauty revealed, packed with high end boutique shops it was a pleasure for both of us to shop here Exeptional jewelers loake shoes, Louis vuiton many many more the architecture typical of a town made wealthy by that victorian ideal free trade and commerce imagery in mosaic adorns the floor and ceiling vaults and leaded cupolas representing wool industry agriculture and the arts, Bourn from that the entirity of briggate filled with a pantheon of these buildings, only one sadness the Exeptional Empire Palace theatre sandwiched between both arcades with a beautiful facade and glass canopy gone, a terrible loss but thank god the rest survived round it, the empire Palace was part of laurel and Hardys last tour of England my grandfather who kept a private box there had the pleasure of Oliver Hardy stepping into it as part of his act. Wonderful shops and bursting with life a wonderful visit
Really like a day out in Leeds - nice boutique type shops in lovely setting.
