One star because the service I wanted, colouring, was rendered adequately. Otherwise, my experience at this salon was horrendous and I left feeling retched. I was mishandled, discriminated against because of my hair type. I have curly hair. I asked to have my hair dried (not a mise-en-plis, a simple drying, as it was October, I don't think I should be expected to go outside with damp hair. Also, I dry my hair with a diffuser in maybe 6 minutes) after my colouring when I booked my appointment *in person*. There is one way to dry curly hair: with a diffuser. The one that was used on my hair as well as the dryer were not good quality, so yes it did take a long time to dry. The other issue is that the two people that had to do it had obviously never used a diffuser or handled anything more than waves. I politely tried to help the first person who was struggling. Another person took over and that's when I started feeling uncomfortable, othered, and as if I was the problem. The person was roughly shoving strands of hair in the diffuser (which was set at cold which I kept trying to explain was delaying the process). I felt despondent and tried to offer advice but the person was not listening to me, clearly they wanted put of the salon as quickly as possible. So I just sat there feeling, embarrassed and watched them destroy my hair. I looked atrocious and felt awful. I wanted to say something but I would start to cry assuredly and I just wanted to het out of there as quickly as possible. It's been two weeks and I still feel dreadful. Beauty treatments are meant to leave people feeling confident, beautiful, and happy. I felt the opposite. This place is clearly meant for people with easily managed straight hair.
