We booked 2 nights and multiple rooms as part of a wedding party. Unfortunately this was not as expected, the rooms were incredibly small, outdated, dirty and dusty. The beds were so uncomfortable and I have never spent an entire night awake whilst away due to noise from other guests in other rooms. Despite the reasonably high cost of £150 per night, parking was an additional fee which isn't unreasonable in the center of Oxford, but only offering a very limited continental breakfast within that price yet having a kitchen which would make hot options, but at extortionate prices is ridiculous. I would honestly not recommend staying here. Part of our party left, got a refund and stayed at another hotel. Wish we had done the same.

This is a fun hotel. Very central and full of character . If you are after a sterile posho city centre designer space then this probably not for you. It is set in a 300 ish year old building with small rooms and some of the decor is quite dated but this gives a wonderful atmosphere . The bed was very comfortable , staff excellent and good breakfast . Our room backed onto the courtyard of the Turf Tavern which was not noisy and was very convenient .

Wonderfully charming if cosy hotel. Not for the claustrophobic, infirm or those unable to sleep without air con. Hopefully the experience will only improve when guests can eat in the dining room as opposed to their rooms. Ideal central location, surprisingly quiet given that it is adjacent to a popular pub

1/ 5

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at The Bath Place Hotel and sadly it's not somewhere we would return nor recommend. The saving grace of this hotel is the location - it's situated right in the centre of beautiful Oxford. The parking was also well organised, secure and just around the corner - albeit at £60 for 3 days. We must also add we were here during very warm weather and our room stayed cool which was a relief. Our initial greeting was friendly enough but upon seeing our room we were so disappointed. It was musty, cramped and grubby - yes it's 2* but we were stunned this room could possibly warrant £166.75 per night! The soft furnishings were faded & tired, the walls patchy, there was no shower (just one you'd have to hold manually!) & there were hairs all over the bed & beyond! Not the welcome we'd hoped for after a long journey in anticipation of a restful break from work. My partner mentioned this and we were able to move to an alternative room which we were grateful for but again, general housekeeping seemed to have gone amiss. The carpet hadn't been hoovered, the bathroom didn't look as though it had been cleaned thoroughly for a while and the furnishings just looked so sad. The bathroom shelf was hanging off, the toiletries were half used (as was the loo roll so we had to ask for more!) and the towels had stains. On a positive, the bed was comfortable so we slept well - despite the noise from the nearby pub - and the breakfast in bed (due to Covid) was OK although not the most substantial. The shower was decent, although small. Overall, we felt this hotel was seriously overpriced for the experience we received. We appreciate that the Bath Place Hotel is an older building with quirks but we felt this ethos was used to detract from a poor guest experience and below par housekeeping. Guests deserve better - we work hard for our money and felt ours wasn't spent wisely here.
