"Avoid at all costs!!! I commissioned Ferriby Windows to do a job back in August last year (a job that had been booked in since May). It was to renovate/strip out an entire floor of my house and reconfigure it. The day before they were due to start I was told my project had been delayed and that they were at least 3 weeks behind as *business owner* had been off with injury! At this point I had already packed everything up, sold furniture I didn’t intend to keep and stripped out the kitchen! For the following 2 and a half months, week on week my job was cancelled and pushed back, and 3 times it was booked in they simply just didn’t turn up and was left for me to chase them to find out what was going on. In the October, *business owner* cancelled the job on me stating that they were too far behind on other peoples work and he was not prepared to put himself and his lads though anymore stress!!!! He quite rightly offered to return my £2000 deposit that I had paid him. However, 2 months on, my deposit still hadn’t been returned. I had to take this through the small claims court at which point he paid me only £500 back. Gave me multiple dates when he’d return the rest, all of which passed and nothing returned. I proceeded through the courts, both he and his wife (who’s name the business is actually under) both now have CCJ’s because of this, even that wasn’t enough to get them to return my deposit. Ultimately I had to get a high court enforcement agency (bailiffs) involved to retrieve my money. On the last day before the bailiffs were due to make a visit to *business owner*'s home and his wife’s business premises they finally made payment in full. 7 months it took to get all of my deposit back and that was on top of nearly 3 months of being messed around! I have not even had anything resembling an apology or any kind of acknowledgment of the situation I was placed in. Customer service was disgusting, it was just excuse after excuse. The covid card was played multiple times, supply issues, even “bad traffic” was used twice as a reason for him not being able to start the work. Every phone call with *business owner* started with the first 4 minutes having to listen to endless sob stories. It was, quite frankly, pathetic! Unprofessional and very unreliable!"
